Australian Kelpies are fully capable of performing many dog sports, search and rescue work, nose work, service dog duties, and more. They have high energy and high exercise needs. They’re happiest when they have a job to do. While they can handle doing a job with little supervision, they need human companionship and direction.
Some says that Kelpies were created by crossing early Collies with other herding dogs and, possibly, Dingoes. 🐕
The Kelpie has a shortish double coat that comes in black, red, blue, fawn, cream, black and tan, red and tan, blue and tan, and fawn and tan.
